President/CEO, Shawnee Mission Medical Center
Samuel Turner, Sr., is president and chief executive officer of Adventist Health System’s Mid-America Region and Shawnee Mission Medical Center. His health care career began at Hyde Park Hospital in Chicago, Illinois as vice president. Within several years, he was recruited to be a senior vice president and COO at Lakeshore Health System, Inc., in East Chicago, Indiana. In 1993, Turner became president and CEO at St. Vincent Charity Hospital in Cleveland, Ohio.
